Hi, and welcome to our family. We are the Leforts, family of three residing in Bukit Batok. And because we live there, we are also known as 'the church in Bukit Batok'. Most people refer to a building as a church, but in reality, it is not.  The 'church' as mentioned in the Bible refers to a group of people (ekklesia)  - it is a living organism, unlike a brick and mortar building.

 

We live in a three-room flat, don't have much material wealth, but live satisfied and meaningful lives which  are enriched by the many friendships we have with family, friends and neighbours. But the most precious possession we have is that of a relationship with our creator, Yahweh God. He is the creator of heaven and

 

earth and we can know about His character, personality, plans for this world and plans for our lives through His Word, also known as  the Bible or the Word of God.

 

Most people would find it hard to believe in the existence of a God - after all there are so many faiths, ideologies and beliefs. Besides, we live in a world filled with strife, injustice, violence, pain, hardships and broken relationships. I too  found it hard to believe in Jesus for many years until I met Him in 1987 through a Christian half-way home known as The Hiding Place. I experienced a supernatural encounter, also known as being 'born again'.

 

Design and Purpose

Design & PurposeDid you know that humans are unique from every other living organism in the world, specially created and specially purposed. There is no other planet in our universe like Earth. Scientists have only speculated there there could be life on other planets, but in spite of all their expensive missions to prove their speculative theory, nothing has been found. The fossil record, our only documentation of whether evolution actually occurred in the past, lacks any transitional forms, and all types appear fully-formed when first present. The evidence that "pre-men" (ape-men) existed is dubious at best. So called pre-man fossils turn out to be those of apes, extinct apes, fully man, or historical frauds.

 

A single seed can blossom into a large tree, giving us shade, nests for birds and fruits to eat such as durians, rambutans, coconuts and others. Or look at a flower - although it came out of soil which is dirty, it is beautiful in every way. Did it happen by accident? Water provides refreshment for the earth, the beasts, and the plants. It feeds the crops and provides for the necessity of life itself. The earth gives up her fruit, providing food and nutrition to us. We have air to breath, food to eat, and all of nature serves mankind for his benefit.

This is how we were supposed to live. Most of us are

so poor because the only thing we have is money.

 

We see the sun and  the moon  run their course providing light by day and at night. The sun and the moon  do exactly what God intended for  them to do, and they have been doing it perfectly every day, every year since creation thousands of years ago. All these did not happen by accident.

 

There is so much to look at and so much to admire in nature.  It is hard for us who live in Singapore to enjoy the beauty that was once ours as we are surrounded  by a massive concrete jungle. Seldom do we have the time to gaze at clouds, the magnificent stars above or  find friendship with animals. We are stressed with our pre-occupation to pay our bills and rarely have the time to pause and  ponder the reason for our existence and what happens to life after death. Well, the good news is that a loving God called Yahweh who created this world is ever ready for you to meet with Him and have a relationship with Him!

If our fallen earth is so beautiful, can you imagine the

promises of Yahweh God in a new place?

 

That's truly the good news which we want to convey to you, after experiencing it firsthand ourselves.
